Stock Bricks
Stock bricks are clay bricks produced using either moulded or pressed manufacturing methods, widely used in residential and commercial construction. Moulded bricks are formed by compressing clay into a sanded mould before being turned out for drying and firing. Pressed stock bricks are created using a specialised mechanical press, resulting in a consistent shape with a distinctive textured finish.
The production process gives these bricks their characteristic irregular surface and natural variation, making them well suited to traditional housing developments, restoration projects and architectural builds requiring visual depth and texture. While some types replicate traditional appearances, specific pre-war brick styles are typically selected for heritage matching and character-led designs. You can learn more about these styles in our guide to pre-war bricks.
