Sustainability in brickwork is becoming an increasingly important focus within modern construction. On the 30th of April 2025, The Brick Specialists hosted an event bringing together industry professionals to explore sustainable practices, materials and innovations shaping the future of brickwork.
About the event
Held at our Royal Mills location in Manchester, the event welcomed attendees passionate about eco-conscious construction to explore the latest sustainable practices in brickwork. Industry experts delivered a series of talks covering key topics including carbon-reducing materials and the lifecycle impact of clay bricks in modern developments.
Clay bricks are widely recognised as a durable and sustainable building material, offering long lifespans, low maintenance and strong thermal performance in residential and commercial developments. Choosing sustainable brick materials can help developers and architects reduce environmental impact while maintaining structural performance and design flexibility.
Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in lively discussions on the role of brick in achieving net-zero targets, as well as practical steps contractors and developers can take to make their projects more environmentally responsible. The event highlighted real-world examples of sustainable brick use and introduced guests to emerging technologies aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of traditional masonry.
A successful evening of learning and networking
With a packed room of architects, developers, contractors and sustainability professionals, the evening proved to be an excellent opportunity for knowledge-sharing and networking. Attendees praised the quality of the presentations and left with practical insights that could be applied to their ongoing and future projects.
We thank everyone who joined us and contributed to meaningful discussions around the future of sustainable building. For those who missed the sustainability in brickwork event, stay tuned for upcoming workshops and resources on sustainable construction from leading UK brick suppliers.
